Genetics / Generational Issues

I find that there are often more than one term to describe the same thing.  For example in science the term genetics is used to say that your father or mother had this trait or gene and now its been passed onto the child.  Spiritually or Energetically speaking the term is to identify a generational issue.  An issue that the generation or generations before had.  So lets say that my grandparents were alcoholics (I’m not saying they were, I’m just pointing out a possible example).  That alcoholic behavior or tendency is possible to carry on to the children.  This would more commonly be recognized as say Bipolar disorder, or AIDS, or Schizophrenia.  All of these are recognized as something that could very possibly carry to the children.

In the scriptures it speaks of issues carrying to the children in D&C 98:35-48 .  More specifically toward the end right around vs 45-48.  He’s teaching that we should forgive others, and then he teaches that we should forgive even if they don’t repent.  Then he says if they continue to ‘trespass’ (websters: To commit any offense or to do any act that injures or annoys another; to violate any rule of rectitude to the injury of another.) against thee unto the fourth time without repenting, the scriptures instruct us to take our plea up with the lord and he will avenge us one hundred fold.  And this is where the ‘issues’ carry on to the children:

“… I, the Lord, will avenge thee of thine enemy an hundred-fold;
And upon his children, and upon his children’s children of all them that hate me, unto the third and fourth generation.
But if the children shall repent, or the children’s children, and turn to the Lord their God, with all their hearts and with all their might, mind, and strength, and restore four-fold for all their trespasses wherewith they have trespassed, or wherewith their fathers have trespassed, or their fathers’ fathers, then thine indignation shall be turned away;”    D&C 98:45-48

So lets say that two neighbors get into a fight, and choosing not to forgive the other this feud continues and their children are taught to hate this certain family because of this same issue.  So the children grow up with that same bitterness or hatred inside.  It may not be outwardly taught but without repenting and forgiving that emotion or response to similar situation will continue.

To go a little deeper we come to learn that every thought, word, and deed has a physical effect upon our bodies.  When our sister is being a “pain in the neck” and we don’t address the issue – the issue can physically manifest itself as a literal “pain in the neck”.  Elder Bruce R. McConkie states in his book entitled “Mormon Doctrine” :

In a real though figurative sense, the book of life is the record of the acts of men as such record is
written in their own bodies. It is the record engraven on the very bones, sinews, and flesh of the mortal
body. That is, every thought, word, and deed has an affect on the human body; all these leave their marks,
marks which can be read by Him who is Eternal as easily as the words in a book can be read.

By obedience to telestial law men obtain telestial bodies; terrestrial law leads to terrestrial bodies; and
conformity to celestial law – because this law includes the sanctifying power of the Holy Ghost – results in
the creation of a body which is clean, pure, and spotless, a celestial body. (D. & C. 88:16-32.) When the
book of life is opened in the day of judgment (Rev. 20:12-15), men’s bodies will show what law they have
lived. The Great Judge will then read the record of the book of their lives; the account of their obedience
or disobedience will be written in their bodies.

So if we are willing to forgive everyone and hold no grudges or no bitterness or any other negative emotion – we find ourselves living a higher law.  As such, upon living that higher law and ‘loving one another’ we come to find less physical ailments in our life.  However, we’re not always done there.  If there was something that was taught to us, by our parents that doesn’t abide this same law.  That needs to be repented over as well.  Just as D&C 98 states that the children can repent over their parents issues, we can repent for the grudge they had against so and so…  We can show that person that we don’t hold any ill feelings but choose to ‘love one another’ always.

We have agency to act.  We can allow others to act upon us, but then we’re giving them our agency.  If we take our lives into our own hands and take action to repent and stop being bitter about what happened in the third grade and instead show love; our bodies will respond and we will become healthier and happier.

“…For I, the Lord God, created all things, of which I have spoken, spiritually, before they were naturally upon the face of the earth…”
Moses 3:5

It is my intention to exercise these teachings.  To love my neighbor, to love and serve Heavenly Father & Jesus Christ, and to love myself.  And through forgiving and repenting of all my wrong doings and any wrong doings I may have been taught – and changing those to be the true and correct principles; I intend to some day be like my Savior Jesus Christ and receive of the fullness as He did.

“Ye are not able to abide the presence of God now, neither the ministering of angels; wherefore, continue in patience until ye are perfected.”
D&C 67:13

I love my Savior and my Heavenly Parents and my Guardian Angels, and I thank them for their love and influence in my life!!!!!  God Bless You!!!
